I know, I’ve been really bad about keeping this blog updated and please forgive me. I will be trying to make up for it with a new post as often as possible from now on.

Poof!…in a flash, that’s how long it takes for someones world to come to a crashing halt.

For us it happened at 6:58 pm on August 6th 2002.
For us it started with an argument over lasagna on a very hot day and a dead Robin that did a kamikaze on the garage window. The argument prompted my hubby to go back to that day’s work-site to get a few more hours of painting done.

 was misdiagnosed back in 2002 and told at my 5 1/2 and 6 week ultrasounds that I most likely had a blighted ovum. After my 7 and 8 week ultrasounds, my doctor strongly recommended a D&C due to an empty gestational sac.   At nearly 9 weeks, we saw my baby for the first time on ultrasound, beating heart and all!

How it Happened.

Whilst doing National Service in the Rhodesian army I got a few cuts and scrapes whilst skirmishing and unfortunately these turned septic. By the time I got into the army hospital my heart was starting to play up and this was wrongly diagnosed as Rheumatic Fever and I was treated accordingly.

Legally Blind Golfer

When my husband was 42 years old, he was told he was legally blind. The doctors first thought the problem was retinitis pigmentosa. Later some doctors suggested macular degeneration. After many tests and many doctors, it is now determined that he has a combination of both of those diseases and a few more.

     Through hell and back again, my journey through depression

In November 2004 my third son was born via caesarean section after over 40 hours labour. This was my third caesarean,my second unsuccessful attempt at a home birth.

Everything had been put into place to make it a success. But, things just didn’t work out. Afterwards, I developed post-traumatic stress disorder and severe depression

    Life With Depression

i have been struggling with depression since the age of 11, and started receiving medical attention at the age of 21. This is something that i wrote while i was depressed, somewhat showing how low i was feeling. The road through my depression, once i started receiving medical treatment and therapy, has been long and hard. I have gone through many different medications but have been unresponsive to everything we have tried so far, however, the one we are just starting seems to be having an effect.
